Alexander Ullmann's own arrangement of "Peer Gynt" for solo piano! Like Chopin, Grieg was a composer who gave his greatest poetic freedom to his small pieces, and Hans von Bülow called him the "Chopin of Scandinavia. In addition to the 10th collection of "Lyric Pieces," this album includes "Moods," probably Grieg's last work, and the composer's own arrangement of songs for solo piano, concluding with Ullmann's new arrangement of "Peer Gynt Suite No. 1. This is a brilliant transcription that vividly captures the colors and textures of the original. Born in London in 1991, Alexander Ullmann studied with Leon Fleischer and Dmitri Alexeev and won the 2011 Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Budapest (Budapest International Music Competition) From 2014 to 2017, he was a member of the She represented the Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT), and in 2017 won the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition in Utrecht, the Netherlands.
