Maya Levy & Racha Avanesian! A dramatic violin album created by two talented violinists during a lockdown! Racha Avanesian transformed their Brussels apartment into a recording studio to record a program consisting of works by both composers. Maya Levy is a young violinist born in 1997 who succeeds Noe Inui as violinist of the newly formed "Trio Carlo van Neste. Racha Avanesyan is a talented Armenian violinist who won first prizes at the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition (2006) and the Carl Nielsen International Music Competition (2008). The music of Prokofiev and Piazzolla contains emotions that many of us may have experienced over the past year. Prokofiev's sonatas, composed under Soviet repression, and Piazzolla's tangos, with the bitter-sweet melancholy of the Argentine soul underlying the sensual tangos.Fear, tension, despair, hope, and joy...... are the wide range of emotions pursued by the pieces on this album, but the overall mood is that hope will triumph.
