Description:
German conductor Christoph Koenig, who was born in Dresden in 1968, studied conducting at the Dresden University of Music, and gained experience as assistant to Colin Davis at the Staatskapelle Dresden, is now recording with his principal conductor and music director, Solisz European Luxembourg (Soloists Europaens Luxembourg), who currently serves as principal conductor and music director. For his first recording, Koenig focuses on composers from the French Revolutionary era who showed influence from Beethoven, especially Etienne Nicolas Meilleur. The combination of Beethoven's "Hero" and Meilleur's "Symphony No. 1," whose last movement in particular is reminiscent of Beethoven's, will highlight the charm of this forgotten symphony from the French Revolution.
