(Billy Joel) This album features works by Korean-British composer and pianist Joo Hyun-ki, who engages in diverse activities to make classical music more accessible, alongside pieces by singer-songwriter Billy Joel, who studied classical piano until age 16. Ju Hyung-ki's works comprise three pieces totaling approximately 29 minutes: "Childhood," poetically depicting a pure youth; "Chandelier," inspired by the sight of hundreds of thousands of prayer candles illuminating skyscrapers and the night sky immediately after the 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States; and the funky and joyful "Funk Yeah!" Billy Joel's works comprise selections from his 2001 album "Fantasy & Delusion," totaling approximately 24 minutes. Performed by Yoo Seong-hee, a Korean pianist based in Italy.Track 6, "Poem for a Snail," also features brief narration in Japanese and English. The original album of Billy Joel's work was composed by Billy Joel, with arrangements and performances by his friend Joo Hyung-ki. This album, recorded 23 years later, presents a new interpretation of those songs. Recorded at Studio G&G in Ardea, a Mediterranean coastal city near Rome in the Lazio region of central Italy, from September 23 to 25, 2024. The CD running time is approximately 53 minutes. The packaging is a digipak format. The insert booklet (English, 12 pages) includes liner notes by Hyung-ki Joo and words from Billy Joel. Manufactured in the EU, the disc is produced by Germany's Optimal Media, a label well-known in the major label sphere.
