Colin Newman, frontman of the immortal post-punk legends Wyre, is pleased to announce the CD/LP reissue of his 1997 release "BASTARD"! This is his sixth solo album on the SWIM label, which he founded and collaborated with his partner MALKA SPIGEL. Inspired by post-rock bands on Chicago's KRANKY and THRILL JOCKEY labels, especially TORTOISE, the album features only one line of vocals, a sample from MALKA on "TURN". House, techno, breakbeat, drum'n'bass, post-rock, and unmistakably post-punk, the album sold better in Germany than in the UK.
