Scottish heavyweights SIMPLE MINDS led the UK rock scene in the 80's with their arena-sized rock and New Wave rough guitars, and have left behind many big venue-filling anthems such as the 80's classic "NEW GOLD DREAM," 1985's "ONCE UPON A TIME" and the world famous movie theme song "DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME" (which has become an international hit). DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME," which is known worldwide as a movie theme song. This is an analog version of a broadcast recording of the March 2, 1995 show in Los Angeles during the GOOD NEWS FROM THE NEXT WORLD TOUR, which started in 1995 in conjunction with the release of the studio album "GOOD NEWS FROM THE NEXT WORLD. The tight band sound of the mid-90's and the audience's reaction on the spot are captured in this recording, which condenses the trajectory of SIMPLE MINDS from the New Wave period to the Arena Rock period into one night on stage. The dynamic guitars and drums of "SHE'S A RIVER," the heavy bass and synths of "WATERFRONT," the singalong chorus of "DON'T YOU FORGET ABOUT ME," and the soaring melodies and keyboard echoes of "ALIVE The live recording captures the heat and atmosphere in front of the stage, including a sharp cover of VELVET UNDERGROUND's "WHITE LIGHT, WHITE HEAT. This is a live rock recording that captures the scale and energy of SIMPLE MINDS in the 90's, along with the atmosphere of the tour. This is a great disc for listeners who want to experience the stadium-grade sound again in analog format. Hand numbered.
