The Yardbirds' and Eric Clapton's debut album, 10 songs recorded at the Marquee Club in London on March 20, 1964. The album features Chuck Berry's "TOO MUCH MONKEY BUSINESS," which is regarded as a template of Hard Rock, Howlin' Wolf's "SMOKESTACK LIGHTNING," which later became a standard live number, Eddie Boyd's "FIVE LONG YEARS," which led to John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers' lineup, and the slow "Muddy Wounds. This is one of the birthplaces of blues-rock, which is a straightforward, high-energy electronic version of the American blues and R&B that is inspired by the youthful spirit of the band, including the slow "Five Long Years" and Muddy Waters' "I'M A MAN". The occasional improvisations, including Clapton's guitar solo, are masterpieces that remind us of the later development of the scene.
