Description:
Although the Four Seasons are best remembered for their early hits, their creativity from 1966-68, when they recorded the material on this album, was at the height of their career. The songwriting/production team of Sandy Linser/Denny Randell created the legendary Buddy Saltzman's distinctive drum sound on the hits "Let's Hang On" and "Working My Way Back To You," and the stomping, four-strike Mo town style, and in 1966 Bob Gaudio arranged Cole Porter's "I've Got You Under My Skin" to make it sound like one of their songs. Frankie Valli's solo career began with the Bob Crewe/Charlie Calello composition "(You're Gonna) Hurt Yourself," and "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" became Valli's first number one. Included here are two live versions of Frankie's 1967 Christmas single "To Give".In addition to performances from 1966-68 television appearances, the album includes a bonus hit medley that was broadcast on the BBC's Top Of The Pops in 1971.
