The 1,262-seat Ambassador Auditorium on the campus of Ambassador College in Pasadena, California, was a major concert hall on the West Coast from 1974 to 1995, hosting approximately 2,500 concerts. From this collection comes a five-disc set of rare recital recordings by the renowned pianist Claudio Arrau. Transferred & remastered from open reel tapes at 24bit / 96kHz. The collection features Arrau's famous Beethoven, Liszt, Brahms, and more. All of the pieces are being released for the first time. Claudio Arrau (1903-1991), born in Chile, was one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century. Uncompromising in his role as a performer, he was an unparalleled musician who delved thoroughly into the works of great composers and brought his music to his audiences with deep insight and strength of spirit.He has earned a reputation as a great interpreter of Beethoven, and his music is no less brilliant than that of Mozart, Schubert, Chopin, Liszt, Schumann, Brahms, and Debussy.
