Ferenc Farkas is a Hungarian composer whom the TOCCATA label has been focusing on releasing. This album contains eight "wind ensemble" works, some arranged by the composer himself and some by other composers. The "Old Hungarian Dances of the 17th Century" have been arranged for various instruments, and this brass band version is very lively. All the other pieces have a humorous atmosphere, and the strong rhythms derived from Hungarian folk songs are filled with passionate energy.
