This album contains two "jazz etudes" by Milan Dvorak, a jazz pianist/composer who has been a member of Czech big bands since the 1960s. While the purpose of this collection is to help amateur jazz pianists improve their technique and sense of rhythm, it is also interesting to listen to and surprisingly complete as a single collection. Milan Hranjek, who plays piano here, is a musician who also specializes in trombone, and this is his first recording for the Toccata label, recorded in 2015. (C)RS
