Conductor Gregory Rose has several recordings on the CHANDOS label and other labels. His father, Bernard, is known as one of the outstanding choral composers of the late 20th century in England. This album was released to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bernard's (1916-1996) birth, and all the works have a wonderful sound, modest but sometimes explosive in power, in the tradition of English cathedrals. The chorus is sung by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, known worldwide for its high standards. Recorded in 2016. (C)RS
