Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in 2LP editions that faithfully reproduce the original source material! A limited number of these albums will also be available with Japanese-language obi! Seven of Stereolab's studio albums are being reissued in new 2LP editions by Duophonic UHF Disks / Warp Records! This release features remastered material that was released in an expanded edition in 2019. In addition, the high quality of the music was cut by Beau Condren (Calyx Mastering) from the original 1/2" tapes and supervised by Tim Gaine. Each album is packaged in a single 5mm wide sleeve and a printed inner sleeve with a protective PVC outer bag. Each album will also be released in a limited quantity with a Japanese wraparound obi! More pop, softer... This is a turning point work that shows a new frontier of sound design with a warm sound image in the background. Mars Audiac Quintet" is a turning point for the band's next stage of development, as the band's sound design is more pop-like and fuller, and it foreshadows the band's further growth. At the time of this album, there were still traces of guitar rock from the McCarthy era, but it was during this period that the band began to show off elements of jazz, Brazilian music, R&B, and other genres without hesitation. With the resumption of their activities after a 10-year hiatus and this series of reissues, we hope you will realize how committed they were to the contemporary scene, transcending time and space, in this era just before the year 2020.
