The North London-based prodigy releases her latest album! Featuring Miho Hatori (Chibo Matt) and Tirzah A brilliant work that transforms influences from 2000s electronic music—such as Aoki Takamasa and Ryoji Ikeda—into pop London-based producer Loraine James has earned high praise for works that express diverse musical influences—including jazz, electronica, bass music, and ambient—through a contemporary sensibility. Her latest release, *Detached From The Rest Of You*, was created out of inner conflict and a thirst for change. Following her experience producing the 2025 EP *Clandestine* with singer Anysia Kym, she has adopted a more pop-oriented approach and a method of weaving instrumental elements into refined song structures, incorporating these lessons into the production of this album. Moving beyond club-oriented sounds and meandering arrangements, she has shifted toward a clearer, more condensed song form. The production has been stripped down to the bare essentials, creating a sonic space filled with clicks and glitches inspired by Aoki Takamasa, Ryoji Ikeda, and early 2000s Clicks & Cuts. By skillfully utilizing minimalist keyboard chords and negative space, the void created between the sound and the vocals has culminated in their most confident and direct work to date. Featuring guest appearances by Sydney Spann ("Ina Rut"), Alan Sparhawk (Low/"Peak Again"), Miho Hatori (Cibo Matto/"Flatline"), Anysia Kym ("Score"), and Tirzah ("Habits and Patterns"). Furthermore, longtime collaborator Le3bLACK once again delivers sharp lyrics on "Ending Us All," backed by Fyn Dobson’s jazz-infused drums.
