Description:

The world fell in love with the New Romantics, the pop legends who have been making new "pop" music with cutting-edge art and the latest technology since the 80's. The first five albums by Duran Duran are now back on CD and analog LP! Simon Le Bon, Nick Rose and John Taylor's first album "Big Thing" has been reissued with the original artwork reproduced as much as possible! Duran Duran, the pop legend who ignited the New Romantic Movement in the 1980s, has been a major force on the international music scene, selling over 80 million records, 18 US charting singles, and 30 UK Top 30 singles. In 2022, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and last year, in 2023, he released his latest album, "Danse Macabre. He is still an active artist today. Duran Duran's early works will be reissued on CD and analog LP! The five albums released this time are "Duran Duran" (debut album in 1981), "Rio" (1982), "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" (1983), "Notorious" (1986), and "Big Thing" (1988). Each of these albums uses the latest remastered sound sources, and the album artwork has been recreated as much as possible from the original releases under the supervision of Malcolm Garrett, the designer who created the artwork for the first three albums. Duran Duran was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, in the 1980s, and was the spark that ignited the New Romantic movement, which went on to become one of the most popular music genres in the world. The band became a representative of the New Romantic movement of the 1980s. The band was a hit during the MTV boom of the time, and their good looks and the convincing stylishness of their art school-educated members won them a large fan following not only in their native England, but also in Japan. The band's name is based on the villain "Dr. Durand-Durand" who appears in the 1968 science fiction film "Barbarella" starring Jane Fonda. The first album, "Duran Duran," reached No. 3 on the U.K. album chart. Subsequent singles such as "Gravure no Bishojo" and "Hungry Like the Wolf" became hits, and the second album "Rio" was released in 1982. After touring North America, the album became a big hit in the U.S. as well, and its popularity became worldwide. In 1983, they released their third album, "Seven & the Racked Tiger" (#1 in the UK/#8 in the US), and in 1984, their single "The Reflex" became the first single to reach #1 on the US singles chart (and #1 in the UK). With these albums, they defined the sound and style of an era and a generation, and their numerous single hits dominated the charts in the U.K., U.S., and around the world, becoming the soundtrack to the lives of millions of fans. (1/2) Source provided by the release and distributor (2024/05/24) Duran Duran has thus leapt to the forefront of the international music scene and become widely recognized as one of the most influential cultural icons of all time, having released 16 studio albums to date and having built a solid career as recording artists. They have released 16 studio albums to date and continue to perform these '80s songs to packed arenas, and are set to headline the Latitude Festival in the UK this July.
