Description:
Duran Duran, the pop legends who have been making new "pop" music using cutting-edge art and technology since the 80's, are reissuing their first five albums on CD and analog LP! The third album "SEVEN AND THE RAGGED TIGER", the culmination of the New Romantic sound and the best album of Duran Duran's early years, is reissued with the original artwork reproduced as much as possible! Duran Duran, a pop legend who has been making new "pop" music using cutting-edge art and technology since the 1980s, ignited the New Romantic Movement of the 1980s and has sold over 80 million records, 18 US chart singles and 30 UK Top 30 singles, and has been a major force on the world music scene. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 and released his latest album "Danse Macabre" in 2023. He is an active artist who continues to be active today. Duran Duran's early works will be reissued on CD and analog LP! The five albums released this time are "Duran Duran" (debut album in 1981), "Rio" (1982), "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" (1983), "Notorious" (1986), and "Big Thing" (1988). Each of these albums uses the latest remastered sound sources, and the album artwork has been recreated as much as possible from the original releases under the supervision of Malcolm Garrett, the designer who created the artwork for the first three albums. Duran Duran was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, in the 1980s, and was the spark that ignited the New Romantic movement, which went on to become one of the most popular music genres in the world. The band became a representative of the New Romantic movement of the 1980s. The band was a hit during the MTV boom of the time, and their good looks and the convincing stylishness of their art school-educated members won them a large fan following not only in their native England, but also in Japan. The band's name is based on the villain "Dr. Durand-Durand" who appears in the 1968 science fiction film "Barbarella" starring Jane Fonda. The first album, "Duran Duran," reached No. 3 on the U.K. album chart. Subsequent singles such as "Gravure no Bishojo" and "Hungry Like the Wolf" became hits, and the second album "Rio" was released in 1982. After touring North America, the album became a big hit in the U.S. as well, and its popularity became worldwide. In 1983, they released their third album, "Seven & the Racked Tiger" (#1 in the U.K./ #8 in the U.S.), and in 1984, their single "The Reflex" became the first single to reach #1 on the U.S. singles chart (also #1 in the U.K.). (1/2) Source: Source provided by the seller and distributor (2024/05/24) With these works, they defined the sound and style of an era and a generation, and their numerous single hits dominated the charts in the U.K., U.S., and around the world, becoming the soundtrack to the lives of millions of fans. Duran Duran has thus leapt to the forefront of the international music scene and become widely recognized as one of the most influential cultural icons of all time, and even today, with 16 studio albums to their credit and a growing career as recording artists, they continue to be a force to be reckoned with. They have released 16 studio albums to date and continue to perform these '80s tunes to packed arenas, and are set to headline the Latitude Festival in the UK this July. Seven and the Ragged Tiger] 《2010 Remastered》 《2010 Remastered》 This third album is the culmination of their New Romantic sound, which reached No.1 in the UK, and is their best work to date. Recorded in France, Australia, and the Caribbean, "The Reflex" became the band's first U.S. No. 1 and U.K. No. 1 single, and led to the band's biggest tour ever, the Sing Blue Silver Tour.(1983年作品)(2/2) 発売・販売元 提供資料 (2024/05/24) Despite the fact that Seven and the Ragged Tiger couldn't match the unrestrained pop/rock ebullience of 1982's Rio, Duran Duran put three of the album's singles in the Top Ten, taking it to number one in the U.K. Even though "The Reflex" gave the band their first number one hit, there's an overabundance of fancy glitz and dancefloor flamboyancy running through it, unlike "New Moon on Monday"'s straight-ahead appeal or "Union of the Snake"'s mysterious, almost taboo flair. It's apparent that Seven and the Ragged Tiger's content has the band moving ever so slightly into a danceclub arena, with the songs leaning more toward their ability to produce a sexier sound through electronics and instrumentation than through a firm lyrical and musical partnership. Even the unreleased tracks trade Duran Duran's handsome edginess for a shinier sound, heard mainly on "I Take the Dice" and "Cracks in the Pavement." It's here that Lebon and Taylor's personalities begins to get overshadowed by the demand to produce a more synth-snazzy and fashionable style of music. Although they may have turned their songwriting down a notch in order to succumb to the pabulum of synthesized pop, they didn't relinquish every aspect of their genius, and when they do deliver, it's bright, energetic, and effectual. Duran Duran's new direction eventually gave Seven and the Ragged Tiger double platinum status. ~ Mike DeGagne Rovi
