Description:

The world fell in love with the New Romantics, the pop legends who since the 80's have been sounding new "pop" with cutting-edge art and the latest technology, and now their first five albums are back on CD and analog LP! The debut album, whose hits "Girls On Film" and "Planet Earth" heralded a new evolution in British pop music, is being reissued with as much of the original release artwork as possible! Duran Duran, a pop legend who has been making new pop music with cutting-edge art and technology since the 1980s, ignited the New Romantic Movement of the 1980s and has sold over 80 million records, 18 US chart singles, 30 UK Top 30 singles, and more than 30 international hits. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022 and released his latest album "Danse Macabre" in 2023. He is still an active artist today. Duran Duran's early works will be reissued on CD and analog LP! The five albums released this time are "Duran Duran" (debut album in 1981), "Rio" (1982), "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" (1983), "Notorious" (1986), and "Big Thing" (1988). All albums were remastered using the latest soundtracks, and the album artwork has been recreated as much as possible from the original releases under the supervision of Malcolm Garrett, the designer who created the artwork for the first three albums. Duran Duran was formed in 1978 in Birmingham, England, in the 1980s, and was the spark that ignited the New Romantic movement, which went on to become one of the most popular music genres in the world. The band became a representative of the New Romantic movement of the 1980s. The band was a hit during the MTV boom of the time, and their good looks and the convincing stylishness of their art school-educated members won them a large fan following not only in their native England, but also in Japan. The band's name is based on the villain "Dr. Durand-Durand" who appears in the 1968 science fiction film "Barbarella" starring Jane Fonda. The first album, "Duran Duran," reached No. 3 on the U.K. album chart. Subsequent singles such as "Gravure no Bishojo" and "Hungry Like the Wolf" became hits, and the second album "Rio" was released in 1982. After touring North America, the album became a big hit in the U.S. as well, and its popularity became worldwide. In 1983, they released their third album, "Seven & the Racked Tiger" (#1 in the UK/#8 in the US), and in 1984, their single "The Reflex" became the first single to reach #1 on the US singles chart (and #1 in the UK). With these albums, they defined the sound and style of an era and a generation, and their numerous single hits dominated the charts in the U.K., U.S., and around the world, becoming the soundtrack to the lives of millions of fans. (1/2) Source provided by the release and distributor (2024/05/24) Duran Duran has thus leaped to the forefront of the international music scene and become widely recognized as one of the most influential cultural icons of all time, having released 16 studio albums to date and having built a solid career as recording artists. They have released 16 studio albums to date and continue to perform these '80s songs to packed arenas, and will headline the Latitude Festival in the U.K. this July. Duran Duran] 《2010 Remastered Soundtrack》The debut album by Duran Duran, the band that led the New Romantic boom. The apocalyptic impact of "Planet Earth" and "Girls On Film," which is said to be the first time the "found sound" was used in music, is a new evolution of British pop music. The apocalyptic impact of "Planet Earth" foreshadowed a new evolution in British pop music. The album was a huge hit, reaching #3 on the UK Albums Chart and sitting on the album chart for 117 weeks.(1981年作品)(2/2) 発売・販売元 提供資料 (2024/05/24) Duran Duran's eponymous debut artfully coalesced the sonic and stylistic elements of the burgeoning new romantic movement they were soon to spearhead: pumping synths, glossy production, and seemingly impossible haircuts. Ultra-smart singles like "Girls on Film" and "Planet Earth" became instant smash hits both in the U.K. and America, and other fine pop gems such as "Anyone Out There" and "Careless Memories" rounded out the album's stellar first side. Side two was a far more experimental and revealing affair, with primary songwriter Nick Rhodes leading the band through atmospheric mood-pieces like "Night Boat," "Sound of Thunder," and the instrumental "TelAviv," all of which are particularly reminiscent of mid-era Roxy Music (clearly one of Duran's biggest influences). The band's groundbreaking music videos would do the rest, securing them a unique standing as forerunners of the first MTV generation and cementing their status as one of the decade's most successful pop music icons. [The band's first U.K. number one, the non-album single "Is There Something I Should Know?," was added to the 1983 U.S. reissue of Duran Duran, which also featured different artwork.] ~ Eduardo Rivadavia Rovi
