Description:

The album features religious choral works by three 18th century French composers, Rameau, Campra, and Mondonville. The program, which expresses the transition from sorrow to joy, from darkness to light, was performed in concert for about a year by Aime & Le Conseil d'Astre and a group of young soloists recognized as fine singers, and was finally recorded in the fall of 2022 at the magnificent Chapelle Royale in the Palace of Versailles. The recording was made. Each work is a juxtaposition of liturgical solemnity and operatic passion. Forum Opera said, "It was a concert that emerged with a deep sense of euphoria. Campra's interpretation of the Requiem was outstanding by its poetry as well as its vitality, in a sumptuous theatricality inspired by Lully ... Marie Perveau shone, her voice resonant and full-toned, stylish and agile, typical in its articulation. Her virtuosity was most on display in Mondonville, where she performed with a pyrotechnics rarely seen in churches.Samuel Borden, in true French style haute-contre, sang superbly with elegance and superb phrasing.... Another tenor, Zachary Wilder, captivated with his flexible ornamentation and rounded tone.... Baritone Victor Sicard perfectly expressed his amplitude and power. The orchestra was flawless in color, balance, clarity, and power. The choir was impressive in its flexibility, precision, homogeneity, dynamism and articulation. The works recorded here were masterpieces in the 1980s and 1990s by William Christie, Philip Herreweghe, and John Eliot Gardiner, but Emanuel Ayim conducted the most intimate moments, the grand polyphonic passages, This is the birth of a new masterpiece that has maintained an extraordinary energy, enlivening the homophonic tutti.Import only handled by Warner Music Japan, with Japanese commentary, lyrics translation and obi (2/2) Warner Music Japan
