And it's available on pink vinyl LP! The Wombats are a three-piece band from Liverpool. The Wombats are frontman Matthew Murphy (vocals/guitar/keyboards), drummer/back-up vocalist Dennis Harris (vocals/guitar/keyboards) and drummer/back-up vocalist Matthew Murphy (vocals/guitar/keyboards), all of whom attended the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), which was founded by Paul McCartney after the school he attended was renovated. The indie band was formed by three former Liverpool International Public Association (LIPA) students (frontman Matthew Murphy on vocals/guitar/keyboards, drummer/back-up vocalist Dan Haggis, and bassist Tord Overland Knudsen, a Norwegian who makes his home in Liverpool), and has since gone on to become a household name in their native Liverpool with its flawless guitar-pop. The indie band has attracted music fans not only in their hometown of Liverpool, but also from the UK to the US, Canada, France, Germany, Japan and China.Their debut single "Lost In The Post" was released on the London indie label Kids in July 2006 and sold out in just 3 days, and their third single "Backfire At The Disco" was released in April 2007. The third single, "Backfire At The Disco," was released in April 2007 and became an airplay hit at UK radio. The Wombats then signed with 14th Floor Records, which includes Biffy Clyro and Damien Rice. The Wombats' major label debut album, "A GUIDE TO LOVE, LOSS & DESPERATION," was released in 2007. Recorded at legendary rock studios such as Rockfield Studios, Electric Lady Studios in New York, and RAK Studios in London, the album was produced by Stephen Harris, who worked with the Kaiser Chiefs, Jimmy Robertson, and the band itself. Robertson, and the band itself.The album, which entered the UK album charts at #11, spawned such single hits as "Backfire At The Disco," "Kill The Director," and "Let's Dance To Joy Division. The album was also certified platinum in the UK. The Wombats' major label debut and breakthrough album is now available in analog on pink vinyl to celebrate its 15th anniversary! This is the first time "A GUIDE TO LOVE, LOSS & DESPERATION" has been released in analog format! The analog package also includes LP-sized prints of the single covers of "Moving to New York" and "Let's Dance to Joy Division".
