The film "Moonage Daydream," which finally opens in theaters overseas in September, sheds light on the life and talent of David Bowie, one of the most prolific and most influential artists of our time. Through kaleidoscopic and majestic previously unreleased footage, rare performances, and his music, Moonage Daydream is an experiential cinematic odyssey into the creative, musical, and spiritual journey of the rare artist that is David Bowie. Directed by the director of "Fuck You! Hollywood", "COBAIN: Montage of Heck", and "Jane". David Bowie's own narration is also used in the film, making it the first film to be officially recognized by the artist/management organization. The soundtrack, a companion album to the film "Moonage Daydream," includes songs from Bowie's entire career, as well as previously unreleased material and unique mixes created for the film, plus Bowie's own dialogue. One of the highlights is the previously unreleased live medley "Gene Genie/Love Me Do/Gene Genie" from Ziggy Stardust's last concert at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1973, featuring Jeff Beck on guitar. The album also includes an early version of "Quicksand" from the album "Hanky Dory" and an unreleased live version of "Rock 'n' Roll With Me" from the legendary Soul Tour in 1974. The album contains a variety of rare and valuable recordings.
