Electronica/IDM pioneer Robert Henke-Monolake's first new album in 4 years! The studio is the place where ideas are born, matured, reshaped, and finally sound is generated. For Robert Henke, the studio is both an important place for music production and a comfortable shelter. The music created in the space has been distilled and modified over a long period of time, and has a story to tell, a flavor and a history. In the past, while reorganizing material created for an installation, it was sometimes transformed into completely different music through repeated adjustments, edits, and reconfigurations. STUDIO" is a personal history of a veteran electronic musician, developed in the studio over many years. This work was produced with Ableton Live. It consists of Robert's favorite hardware synths and effects. The New England Digital Synclavier II that inspired the artwork, the Sequential Prophet VS, Yamaha SY77, Linn Drum, and Oberheim Xpander used in Monolake's work since 1996, and the New England Digital Synclavier II, which was the inspiration for the artwork.Ableton Live is of course used with Operator and other effects and materials in the software. Plus Granulator III and PitchLoop 89. The artwork depicts a non-existent instrument based on the Synclavier II user interface, beneath multiple lichen images combined with river-structure-like noise areas. The futuristic button array with red LEDs is imbued with the nostalgia of early computer systems.
