Description:
Il Pomo d'Oro takes on Renaissance avant-garde composer Jesuardo! Il Pomo d'Oro is one of the most remarkable groups in the world of ancient music in recent years. This choir challenged "Sacre Cantiones" by the Renaissance avant-garde composer, Gesualdo. Carlo Gesualdo (1566-1613) was born into a noble family in Naples. As a composer, he wrote madrigals and religious works, but his style was almost contemporary, with extreme chromaticism and dissonance, reflecting his violent temperament. His masterpieces, praised by Stravinsky and astonishing 20th century composers, are freshly reproduced by Il Pomo d'Oro under the baton of Giuseppe Mallette, a famous tenor singer. Known to be extremely difficult to perform, they are not only accurate but also surprising in their intense expression, and after 420 years, the sound world envisioned by Gesualdo has been perfectly realized. This is an album to watch out for. King International
