Organist and conductor Haselböck: A box of rare recordings of works by Mozart, Biber, Schmelzer, and others, as well as works by Fuchs and Porpora! The Vienna Academy Orchestra, founded in 1985 by the organist and conductor Hazelbeck, presents a box of rare recordings by the orchestra. The Wiener Akademie Orchestra is known for its HIP-oriented style, and is very ambitious in its approach to music from the Baroque to the Romantic period (including rare works). This box features music associated with the Habsburg family. Hazelbeck's interest in this kind of music was inspired by his appointment in 1976 as organist of the Augustiner Church, where the Habsburgs held important services, and in 1978 as organist of the Hofburg Royal Chapel. The library of the chapel contained many valuable materials, including scores of works by Schmelzer, Biber, Fuchs, and other music-loving emperors.This box contains recordings made by Hazelbeck and the Wiener Akademie Orchestra between 1989 and 1999, including such valuable works as the oratorios of Fuchs and Porpora, as well as works by music lovers Joseph I, Ferdinand III, and Leopold I.
