The works selected by Piketti and the Concert Ideal all evoke rich, vivid imagery. Elsan’s concerto depicts the terror of the Nazi era, and both Elsan’s and Shostakovich’s works evoke a variety of vivid imagery. Picchetti is a French violinist who studied under Perlman and Menuhin. Since his debut performance at Carnegie Hall, he has been active on the world stage. In 2013, he formed Le Concert Idéal and has been actively performing a wide-ranging repertoire, from Piazzolla to Vivaldi, as well as commissioned new works. In 2019, he released *Ariane’s Thread* (EVCD053), a highly original album that bridges Locatelli with the present day, which generated significant buzz. King International
