Goltz's brilliant and rich-sounding Telemann Telemann's early works are now available in a rare new recording! Goltz, who is highly acclaimed worldwide as concert master and conductor of the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, has recorded a collection of violin sonatas written by Telemann in his youth. This is one of the most remarkable recordings of these rarely recorded works! Telemann published his collection of six sonatas for violin with clavesan in Frankfurt in 1715, and from 1708-1712, while serving as music director and first violinist at the court of Eisenach, Telemann composed serenades, cantatas, chamber and orchestral works, and religious music, as well as his own After his wife died in 1711, Telemann probably moved to Frankfurt. These sonatas are dedicated to Johann Ernst IV. All are in four movements and are in the style of church sonatas (slow-rapid-rapid-rapid).Although the published score of the time describes the piece as for violin and clavecin, the basso continuo part is played here in an appropriate combination of harpsichord, cello, organ, and theorbo, depending on the piece. The melody that Telemann wrote as a young man is beautifully brought to life by Goltz's confident expression and rich, brilliant sound. King International
