Triola, a string project led by string player Atsuko Hatano, has released a work on the theme of an "imaginary opera" on the up-and-coming British label Constructive! In addition to Anne Suhara, Triola's members, Eiko Ishibashi, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto, Hiroki Chiba, and Koji Shibuya are among the many guests who participate in the project. Following the release of their previous album "Chiral" in 2019, Triola will release a new album on the UK's Constructive label, featuring the recording of string music together with the band member Anzu Suhara. . The album was also produced with a stellar lineup of guest musicians including Eiko Ishibashi (sound collage), Tatsuhisa Yamamoto (drums), Hiroki Chiba (bass), Koji Shibuya (voice), Natsumi Kudo (horn), Keisuke Mazda (synth), Jim O'Rourke (mixing), and Joe Talia (mastering). Created as an "imaginary opera" that explores symbols such as light, maps, and jewels, as well as themes of loneliness, memory, values, self-loss, rebirth, and reinvention, this is a conceptual work in which poetry and drama are present in every song, even the instrumental pieces.The exquisite, free-moving, stunning ensemble formed by strings and percussion, as well as the elegant and luscious string section, are highlighted by Triola's masterful technique and creative eccentricity that embraces warmth and intensity. While keeping the beautifully artistic musicality at the center of the piece, Triola also adds strange and profound richness through avant-garde electronics, sophisticated ambient sounds, and intimate poetry readings, creating a haunting epic. The artwork is by London-based jewelry artist Akiko Shinzato. The mysterious old woman is impressive.
