The Dave Pease Quartet was formed by Dave Pease (vocals, keyboards, guitar), who started playing at a nearby club when he failed all his exams at age 16, Dave Lloyd (guitar), Mick Walsh (drums), and bassist Dave Pegg, who would later play in Fairport Convention and Jethro Tull. The Dave Peace Quartet, a blues band formed by bassist Dave Pegg, was quietly released in 1969, with all songs original from the pen of Dave Peace, in the style of 60's British blues bands like John Mayall and Alexis Korner. The sound is a burst of organ. The band's rough and wild style is captured in this album, which is not produced in detail, and is a must-have for 60s fans who can feel the raw groove of the band and the atmosphere of the place. This is a record that will appeal not only to blues lovers, but also to mods and garage lovers!
