Description:

Includes many previously unreleased recordings! Simeon ten Holt [1923-2012], a Dutch composer who studied under Honegger and Milhaud, belonged to a slightly older generation than Philip Glass and Steve Reich (Reich), and wrote avant-garde works based on the Serie technique in his youth, but in later years, he moved toward a minimalist style, In his later years, he shifted to a minimalist style and became popular for music with repetitive patterns and gradual transformations on the piano that create a pleasant meditative experience. In works with multiple pianos, the continuous and pleasant flow of sound is sometimes lyrical and sometimes dramatic, creating a truly interesting finish. The number of performers and the number of repetitions of a section can be changed, which, according to the composer, is intended to make the performers responsible for the music to the very end. This may be one of the reasons why this piece was well received in the Netherlands, not only by contemporary music fans but also by a wide range of audiences. Jeroen van Veen is also the president of the Simeon ten Holt Foundation, which he founded in 2001. Born in 1969, Dutch pianist and composer Jeroen van Veen began studying piano at the age of seven, graduated from the Utrecht Conservatory, and received his national performing diploma in 1993.
