MUSE, the unrivaled three-piece band with a cosmic, invincible presence, has returned to Earth’s atmosphere with their first new album in about four years. They have completed *THE WOW! SIGNAL*, a grand MUSE-style space opera that fuses the mysteries of the universe, existential hope, and the thrilling possibility of encountering beings far greater than ourselves. Since their 1999 debut, this historically greatest three-piece band has reigned at the pinnacle of the global rock scene with their heavy, symphonic, dynamic sound—resounding on a breathtaking scale—and their epic worldview. This is their first studio album since 2022’s *WILL OF THE PEOPLE*, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s “Top Rock Albums” and “Top Alternative Albums” charts. The announcement was made on a literally cosmic scale: in partnership with SentIntoSpace, a specially designed tablet was launched into the stratosphere at an altitude of 33 km to premiere the music video for their new song “BeWithYou.” Another payload carried stickers for the limited-edition vinyl release. The title is derived from the “Wow! Signal,” a powerful 72-second radio burst observed in 1977 coming from the direction of Sagittarius, which suggested the possibility of a transmission from extraterrestrial life.
