The musical legacy of Mischa Levitski, a genius who died young! The HMV recordings that will be reissued this time occupy the most important position among Levitski's not-so-many recordings legacy! Mischa Levitski (1898-1942), born near Kiev, was a pupil of Michalowski, Stojowski, and Dohnányi, and in the 1920s he quickly established himself as a leading prospect on the piano scene. Indeed, had it not been for his untimely death, Lewicki would undoubtedly be regarded as one of the leading pianists of the 20th century. The HMV recordings reissued this time occupy the most important position in Levitsky's not very large recorded legacy. The complete set of Levitsky's HMV recordings was previously released under the item number APR7020, but it has long been out of print. APR has also completely re-transferred most of the tracks, cleaned up various parts, and corrected pitch errors for this reissue, resulting in a massive scale-up from the previous release.
