A master pianist born in Brazil in the 20th century. Guiomar Novaes (1895-1979), a famous Brazilian pianist of the 20th century, recorded for Victor Talking Machine and Colombia, and the 78rpm recordings have been reissued by "APR". Guiomar Novaes is one of South America's leading female pianists, connecting Teresa Carreño of the 19th century with Martha Argerich of today. She once again surprises us not only with her pianism but also with her wide repertoire, which includes Villa-Lobos from her native Brazil, Isidore Philippe, whom she studied with in Paris, Couperin and Scarlatti from the Baroque era, as well as Gottschalk, Albeniz, and Moszkowski. The remastering was done by Seth B Winner Sound Studios, Inc.Newly remastered, the legacy of Brazil's most famous 20th century pianist shines even brighter: recordings from 1919-1947. Tokyo M-Plus
