Eduardo, a star of the Joven Guarda label and producer of Chin Maia, and Silvinha, a diva who has been active since the 1960s. This album, based on the impact of their trip to Salvador, boldly combines traditional northeastern music such as capoeira, foho, and candomblé with Tropicália, MPB, Black Rio, and psychedelic rock. It is a kaleidoscopic mix of the urban sensibility of Rio and São Paulo and the fundamental rhythms of Bahia.The musicians include accordion virtuoso Domingueños, drummer Dirceu Medeiros, who played on the first Mutantis album, and even members of Banda Black Rio and Som Nosso. The groove created by this overwhelming lineup is one-of-a-kind. The album features the sharp rock funk of "O Tempo Que Esse Tempo Tem," the title track "Sou Filho Desse Chao" with its lively accordion, the trippy psychedelic funk of "Capoeira," and "Spacy," which Madlib sampled in "Sao Paulo" and determined a worldwide reevaluation.
