Based on the epic novel by Victor Hugo, a master of French literature, which is set in the turbulent period of the early 19th century in France and describes the social conditions and people's lives of the time, this magnificent human drama of love, conflict, and hope in the age of the burning flames of revolution has thrilled and moved audiences around the world.
