Known for their dreamy, ethereal sound and exquisite sense of melody, which create a unique musical world, their fourth studio album, *POCKETSYMPHONY*, released in 2007, is now available as a 2-LP ultra-clear vinyl set! ◆With their retro-futuristic electro sound, atmospheric vibe, and stylish disco-esque feel, the hugely popular French electro duo Air—comprising Nicolas Godin and Jean-Benoît Dunckel—has garnered massive popularity not only in their home country of France but also in the UK and here in Japan. Since their 1996 debut with the single “ModularMix” on Mo Wax, they have created a new form of French pop with a lounge sound that lives up to their name, filled with a sense of floating. ◆Now, their fourth studio album, *POCKETSYMPHONY*, released in 2007 and produced by the band’s longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, is set to be released as a 2-LP ultra-clear vinyl set. ◆*POCKETSYMPHONY* stands as a sophisticated, introspective milestone in Air’s career. In addition to the Parisian duo’s signature electro-pop sound, the album constructs a Japonesque soundscape by incorporating elements of traditional Japanese instruments such as the koto and shamisen, unfolding a cinematic soundscape where delicate electronics and the resonances of traditional Japanese instruments blend masterfully. It is also worth noting that Jarvis Cocker of Pulp and Neil Hanon of The Divine Comedy make guest appearances, with their stunning performances taking center stage. Furthermore, the striking artwork by French artist Xavier Veillan, which perfectly captures the album’s atmosphere, is not to be missed.
