Michael Sanderling's groundbreaking homage to old and new, combining Mozart's "Requiem" with a new work, "Mozart and Mevlana" by Fazil Say. Mozart's majestic "Requiem" is a masterpiece that needs no introduction. One of his last works and a milestone in choral music, this album combines Mozart and Mevlana, a new work by pianist and composer Fazil Say. Mozart's "Requiem" incorporates recent period techniques, minimal vibrato, and a faster tempo to give the work a more dynamic and resolving quality, and the expressive prayers of the four soloists and the Berlin Radio Chorus are superb. Fazil Say's "Mozart and Mevlana" is a tribute to Mozart's "Requiem" and is based on the words of Mevlana Rumi, a 13th century mystic thinker, and incorporates Turkish instruments (ney, kudum), music, and Mozart. Fazil Sai is the next in a long line of artists to be featured in the project. Fazil Say says: "Mevlana is an orientalist. Mevlana is a great philosopher of the East, of the Eastern world. I am from Turkey. So I thought: "Can't I use quotations from the musical genius of Mozart and the words of the great philosopher Mevlana to unite the East and the West in love and friendship? And.
