Dr. Feelgood

Description:

Dr. Feelgood was one of the most important pub rock bands of the 1970s, sparking the outbreak of UK punk in 1977. Their first four albums, which had a major impact on the subsequent music scene, will be released on CD and analog LP in 2025 with the latest remastered soundtracks! Their debut album, "Down by the Jetty", which features Wilco Johnson's machine gun guitar playing and Lee Brillow's vocals, is also available on analog LP! Pub rock was born as a reaction to the progressive rock and glam of the early 1970s. Its back-to-basics sound, rooted in the rock 'n' roll and R&B of a few decades earlier, was to have an undeniable influence on the subsequent UK music scene. Dr. Feelgood was a powerful presence in the pub rock scene. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the release of their debut album "Down By The Jetty," the first studio album by the four-piece from Essex, UK, which sparked the 1977 outbreak of UK punk (Sex Pistols, Damned, Clash, etc.), the first four albums are being released on 2025 Dr. Feelgood, one of the most important pub rock bands of the 1970s. The band's rapid, straight-ahead rock 'n' roll with Wilco Johnson (g) cutting without a pick and Lee Brillow (vo)'s wild vocals still has a fresh appeal that hasn't faded. Down by the Jetty Produced by Vic Mailen, "Down by the Jetty" captures the power of a band that has played relentlessly live for five years without a break, with Wilco Johnson's machine gun guitar playing and Lee Brillow's vocals clashing and sparking. The band's power is captured by Wilco Johnson's machine gun guitar playing and Lee Brillaud's vocals. In particular, "Bonie Moronie / Tequila," which closes the album, is a must-hear song that attests to their energetic live show. Guitarist Wilco Johnson is responsible for the songwriting on seven songs, including "She Does It Right" and "Roxette". This is the work that would later influence The Jam, Boomtown Rats, and Blondie. (1975 work)
