A performance with brilliant technique and a deep understanding of Batashvili's sonata works that explores a deep affinity for Liszt's piano music Maryam Batashvili is a pianist born in Georgia in 1993 and has been an official Yamaha artist since 2017. She won the Franz Liszt International Piano Competition for Young Pianists in Weimar in 2011, and then the 10th Franz Liszt International Competition in 2014. In doing so, she was featured in the Dutch NRC Handelsblad newspaper with the headline "Winner Batashvili turns every phrase into something special," and the jury called her a "perfect performer," "very fine tone," and "a sincere expression of emotion. She has performed with the Netherlands Radio Symphony Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, MDR Symphony Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and New Japan Philharmonic. She has also been invited to numerous international music festivals, including the Beethoven Festival in Bonn and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. The album "Influences" continues Liszt's deep affinity for piano music, with a selection of her favorite sonatas from the works of the three great masters of the sonata form, Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, and the album closes with Liszt's "Dante The album closes with Liszt's "Reading Dante - Fantasy in Sonata Style". Haydn and Mozart influenced each other and played music together. The young Beethoven played in front of Mozart, and the young Liszt played in front of Beethoven. Her playing is characterized by the softness of her touch and the richness of her tonal changes, creating a clear sound, especially in the quieter sections. This is applied not only to Liszt but also to works by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, creating a clear, light touch in the classical works and a rich sound and expression in the romantic works.
