David Bowie is a legend who has always been ahead of his time and continues to pioneer the times. His ambitious work, "Young Americans," released in 1975, which finally achieved success in the U.S., is now available in two limited-edition analog versions to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the release of the album. The first is a limited edition vinyl commemorating the 50th anniversary of the release of "Young Americans". This is a limited picture disc analog version featuring the striking cover image of the album! In July 1973, David Bowie, a legend who always pioneered the cutting edge of the times, said goodbye to Ziggy Stardust, the persona he had created, and released "PINUPS" in October of the same year, an album of covers of songs that had influenced him, as if to reset his activities, In 1974, while experimenting with new directions and musical adventures, Bowie released the radical album "Diamond Dogs," which presented a different direction from the glam-rock sound of his earlier work. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the release of "Young Americans," a masterpiece that drew even greater attention for its sound that approached Philadelphia soul and transformed itself into "plastic soul. YOUNG AMERICANS" was released on March 7, 1975. On March 7, 2025, exactly 50 years to the day of its release, two special limited editions will be released to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the album's release: a picture disc analog featuring the cover photo of Bowie's striking image, and a half-speed master analog. The half speed master analogs will be released in the same way as the previous 50th anniversary analogs. As with all previous 50th anniversary commemorative analog releases, the sound sources on this release were cut using a customized late Neumann VMS80 lathe, with the original master tapes restored to 192 kHz, and without any processing during the transfer process. The half-speed master was also cut by John Webber of AIR Studios. With YOUNG AMERICANS, Bowie once again pushes the musical horizon, presenting a style closer to the Philadelphia soul he calls "Plastic Soul.The single "Fame," co-written with John Lennon and performed with Carlos Alomar, the guitarist behind Bowie's activities at the time, became his first No. 1 single on the U.S. singles chart, finally achieving success in the United States.
