THIS DESTINATION" combines his own personal story of his musical career and life spanning over 40 years with a fictional story inspired by it. The deluxe edition includes three additional bonus tracks! Songwriter/guitarist Gary Kemp, one of the founding members of the Spandau Ballet, has had numerous hits on the UK music scene since the 1980s. He has also appeared as an actor in the British crime thriller film "The Glades" and "The Bodyguard" starring Whitney Houston, as well as touring with Nick Mason's Saucerful of Seacrets, a project of Pink Floyd's Nick Mason, since 2018, He has interviewed numerous musicians with Guy Pratt on the music podcast Rockonteurs, and will release a new solo album. This album, "THE DESTINATION," is his first since "INSOLO" in 2021.It is Gary's most personal work to date, using macabre storytelling and character work to express his thoughts and feelings about his past, present, and future. In short, the album is both a semi-autobiographical work and a universal story, depicting scenes that everyone can relate to. The album features Gary's longtime collaborator Toby Chapman on keyboards and backing vocals. He also produced the album with Gary. Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd's rhythm section since 1987) plays bass on the album, and John Metcalfe (ex-Durutti Column and more recently string arranger for Peter Gabriel, Blur, U2, etc.) provides the string arrangements.
