In 1996, during the heyday of Britpop, their debut album "K" was #1 in the UK charts for two weeks in a row and became the "fastest-selling debut album since Oasis" at the time, going double platinum in the U.K. and platinum in Japan. The band reunited in 2006, and when they visited Japan for the Fuji Rock Festival in the summer of the same year, they were greeted with such enthusiasm that the admission to the festival was restricted.In 2016, they released their 5th album "K 2.0" to commemorate 20 years since the release of their debut album "K" and 10 years since their reunion. This album, the first in six years, is a grand concept album that weaves together justice and evil, depravity and redemption, love and fear, and more in a total of 20 songs, including interludes. The sound of the album is the most diverse in the band's history, including royal British rock, country, blues, and acid folk, while their trademark sparkling guitar riffs and melodies filled with mystery are woven together to create a sound that can only be described as the Coola Shaker.
