An underrated album in the T. Rex catalog, Light of Love maintains the sultry, sophisticated swagger of the earlier recordings. Marc Bolan sounds extremely confident as he takes chances when it comes to phrasing. The first half of the record is refreshing with clean '70s production. Tracks like "Solid Baby" and "Space Boss" are adorned with hip backup singers and saxophones. "Till Dawn," with some well-placed strings, is a refreshing break from the brass backups. The only problem with the album is the lyrical stagnancy. But, since the lyrical content is so odd, it can be seen as endearing. A great album to "groove" to. ~ Zachary Curd
