Forty years after their debut, UK space rock heavyweights Hawkwind are still active. The Atomhenge label, which has been actively reissuing/reissuing past works by the Hawks and related artists in recent years, has released an expanded deluxe edition reissue of "Church Of Hawkwind," a classic album originally released in 1982, featuring the same 10 tracks from the original setlist of the RC release LP, plus five previously unreleased bonus tracks. This deluxe edition extended reissue features the same 10 tracks as the setlist of the original RC LP, plus five additional bonus tracks of previously unreleased material. Dave Block used the same alias, Dr. Technical, that he used to produce the 1972 single "Silver Machine," and this album, which was produced under his direction and leadership, has been treated as a solo album by Block since that time, and the songs on this album have never been performed live by the band. The songs on this album were never performed live by the band. All songs were digitally remastered from the original master tapes. Includes a lavish booklet with reprints of lyric cards and artwork, photographs, reminiscences, essays, and more.
