Japanese avant-garde musician/percussionist STOMU YAMASH'TA, who has been active worldwide, freely crossing a wide range of genres including folk music, electronic music, and rock music, has released 7 albums on the Island Records label from '72 to '76. This 7-CD box set compiles 7 albums released on the Island Records label between 1972 and 1976, and was released by Esoteric Recordings in the UK in '22! FLOATING MUSIC" (1971), released jointly with British jazz trio COME TO THE EDGE, "THE MAN FROM THE EAST" (1973), released as a soundtrack for the avant-garde butoh group RED BUDDHA THEATRE's Japanese dance and theater productions, and "STOMU YAMATO" (1974), released as a soundtrack for the Japanese dance and theater production of "RED BUDDHA THEATRE". EAST" / released under the name of STOMU YAMASH'TA'S EAST WIND,The "FREEDOM IS FRIGHTENING" album (1973) and the "ONE BY ONE" album (1974), which showcased more aggressive playing and ensemble, were both released in the same year, and the "RAINDOG" album (1975), which was released in the same year, was released in the same year. RAINDOG", released in '75 under the name of newly formed project GO, and "LIVE FROM PARIS", a live recording of a Paris concert in June 1976 by the same project, are included on each disc.
