An iconic figure of the early Soft Machine and a maverick singer-songwriter born of the Canterbury scene. *Where Do the Stars End: The Recordings 1974–1980* is a 6-CD remastered box set that comprehensively covers the mid-period of Kevin Ayers’ solo career. This serves as the sequel to the earlier box set *All This Crazy Gift of Time: The Recordings 1969–1973*, released in 2024, and allows listeners to trace his journey from the early years—when he moved between psychedelic rock and jazz, avant-garde, to his gradual shift toward more refined modern pop and AOR from 1974 to 1980. In addition to five original albums, it features a total of 35 bonus tracks, including previously unreleased singles, BBC radio sessions, and live recordings—such as the first-ever official releases of their 1975 Paris concert and 1976 Bremen concert.
