Description:
A remastered 3-CD box set featuring all of the works released by Adrian Belew—who made his mark as a guitarist for Frank Zappa, David Bowie, and King Crimson—on Atlantic Records between 1989 and 1992. Includes the albums *Mr. Music Head*, *Young Lions*, and *Inner Revolution*. Also features two bonus tracks. David Bowie makes a guest appearance. Comes with a booklet containing an original essay. This remastered 3-CD clamshell box set contains Adrian Brue’s three albums released by Atlantic Records between 1989 and 1992. Adrian Brué first gained attention in 1977 as a guitarist and vocalist in Frank Zappa’s band, appearing on the album *Shake Your Booty* and the concert film *Baby Snakes*. In 1978, he was invited to join David Bowie’s band for the Isolar II World Tour, and subsequently contributed to Bowie’s albums *Stage* and *Lodger*. He contributed to the Tom Tom Club’s debut album and began his solo career in 1981. That same year, he joined the reunited King Crimson as a second guitarist and vocalist. After King Crimson went on hiatus in 1984, he formed The Bears, a power pop band that was highly acclaimed. He resumed his solo career in 1989, signing with Atlantic Records and releasing the album *Mr. Music Head*. On this album, he played most of the instruments himself. His critically acclaimed 1990 album *Young Lions* features David Bowie on “Pretty Pink Rose” and “Gunman” (the latter a collaboration between Brew and Bowie). Adrian’s final solo album released on Atlantic Records was *Inner Revolution* (1992), which features quirky tracks inspired by 1960s pop music. *The Atlantic Years 1989–1992* is a brilliant and diverse collection of music by a talented and influential musician, a work that generously celebrates his multifaceted talents.
