A 62-74 anthology of singles and previously unreleased material by British 60s pop singer Neil Christian, who was backed by a host of later eminent figures! His debut single "The Road To Love" produced by Joe Meek in 1962 is famous as the first recording with Jimmy Page, and Neil's band, The Crusaders, included Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore and Nicky Hopkins. Jimmy Page, Ritchie Blackmore, and Nicky Hopkins. Later, he teamed up with producer Miki Dallon for the UK Top 20 hit "That's Nice" in 1966, and the wild 1968 single "My Baby Left Me," which broke out in Germany and featured Ritchie Blackmore's scorching guitar playing on the B-side, "Yaketty Yak. and many other hits that were not released in the UK. In addition to his singles from various countries, this album includes four audition tracks for Joe Meek and many other rare tracks.Among them are two debut singles, the first versions of which, minus Meek's overdubs, are the first versions in which Page's guitar can be heard clearly. Not only is the sound appealing, but so is the rough, badass, manly voice. All in all, a singer who deserves to be re-evaluated.
