Now, a rare collection of Led Zeppelin’s live archives is finally here!!
They released their debut album, *Led Zeppelin* (original title: *Led Zeppelin*), in January 1969, making a strong start by reaching No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 10 on the US Albums Chart. Then, in October of the same year, they released *Led Zeppelin II*, which achieved even greater success while the band established its unique blues-based hard rock sound. Their fourth album, released in 1971, had no title; instead, it featured four symbols and became the band’s masterpiece. After releasing their fifth album, *Houses of the Holy*, in March 1973, they embarked on the *North American Tour 1973*, a series of 34 concerts limited to North America. During this tour, the concert held on May 13 in Mobile, Alabama, was recorded for a radio program, but due to a tape-changing error, the final two songs were not captured; instead, a portion of the performance was broadcast to promote the album and the tour. This album is a live recording using the audio from that broadcast.
As a live performance from a period when the band was at the peak of their powers, the content is rich and satisfying; while the omission of two songs is regrettable, the astonishing performance makes one forget that fact and truly conveys the band’s sheer power.
