Joy Division

Description:

Joy Division, a band formed in 1976 that had a profound influence on alternative rock from the late '80s onward during its brief existence, debuted in 1979 with the masterpiece "Unknown Pleasures," produced by Martin Hannett and artwork by Peter Saville, on the UK's Factory label. In 1979, Joy Division debuted with the masterpiece "Unknown Pleasures," produced by Martin Hannett and artwork by Peter Saville, on the UK Factory label. The band pioneered the new post-punk movement that emerged after the decline of punk rock. In March 1980, the band began recording "Closer" and seemed to be gaining influence, but the death of vocalist Ian Curtis in May of the same year forced the band to break up, and the remaining members changed the band's name to New Order. The remaining members of the band changed their name to New Order. To promote their 1979 release "Unknown Pleasures," the band toured Europe for the first time, including Belgium, where the label's European branch, Factory Benelux, was located. As part of the program, a live performance in Paris on December 18, 1979 was recorded and broadcast for a radio program. This live album was recorded and broadcasted for the radio program. The rough rhythm section is impressive, as if to relieve the frustration of the studio recordings, which were mixed into a mysterious sound against the band's will. Peter Hook, who says he was influenced by Jean-Jacques Burnel, wields a powerful Rickenbacker sound, and Stephen Morris' hi-hats are overwhelming, as if he were a human-powered drum machine. Ian Curtis's introspective, screeching vocals dominate the stage, intertwined with Bernard Sumner's understated yet effective guitar work. The album includes "Love Will Tear Us Apart" and "Transmission" from the singles as well as from "Unknown Pleasures. A few songs from their next album, "Closer," were also chosen before its release. This is a rare archive that captures a rare glimpse of the band.Imported Japanese vinyl with Japanese obi and bilingual liner notes>Ian Curtis (vo)Bernard Sumner (g, kbds)Peter Hook (b)Stephen Morris (ds)
