Free was one of the leading figures in the British rock scene of the 1960s and 70s. The band achieved worldwide success with its unique hard rock sound that combined elements of blues and soul, but the band was cut short due to guitarist Paul Kossoff's drug problems... The band's peak period was in 1970, when Free was at its peak, and this rare live archive is now available on CD! Their masterpiece album, "Fire And Water" was released in June 1970, and reached No.17 on the US Album Chart and No.2 on the UK Album Chart. The band toured the U.K. on August 30 to support the sales. To support these sales, the band toured the U.K. and performed at a rock festival on the Isle of Wight on August 30. This live album is a complete recording of the band's performance at the festival, including the encores.The show was held at a time when 'All Right Now', a single cut from the album, was a huge hit, and the audience reaction was great! The band's performance of the song was a response to this, and therefore its content is also very rich. This time, the broadcast source material has been remastered and released as a live album. This is a valuable archive of the band's missing piece, as no live album from this peak period of Free's career has ever been released!
