Last year, Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM), a band still at the top of the Italian rock scene after more than half a century of activity since their debut in 1972 with the album "Storia di Un Minuto", released a new album, "1972-2022: A Minute's Tale", which traces their more than 50 years of activity. Last year, the band will embark on a tour in Europe and Mexico titled "1972-2022: From "One Minute Story" to "I Dreamed of Electric Sheep" and "Embracing the Poetry of Fabrizio De Andre", which traces their activities over 50 years. As the title suggests, the set list is a veritable "best of PFM" of the band's representative songs from their debut album to their most recent work. One of the highlights of the tour will be PFM's appearance as the main act at Lugano Estival Jazz, a music festival held every August in Lugano, a city in southern Switzerland. PFM has performed at this festival twice before, and on August 27, the fourth day of the festival, they will perform on the outdoor stage in Piazza della Reforma, located in the center of Lugano. Special guests will be Matteo Mancuso, a 25-year-old guitarist from Sicily who has become a hot topic on the European jazz scene, and Luca Zabbini will join the band.The performance of this new lineup is one of the best in the band's history, faithfully reproducing the original songs while giving new life to the solo parts, and the dynamic live show is a testament to PFM's capabilities.
